It is a minimally invasive procedure. It enables not only to remove a worrying lesion but more importantly enables histopathologic examination of the attained material in order to specify its character properly. It is a decision by choice, recommended in case of removing lesions which might be undergoing a cancerous process: growing fast, changing their regular look, with sore on the surface and with tendency for bleeding.
active viral infections (e.g. herpes) and bacterial ones in the area subjected to treatment
in case of taking blood thinning medications (Polocard, Acenocumarol), it is recommended, if only possible, to phase them out for 5-7 days
using oral form of vitamin A (isotretinoin, acitretin), in view of its ability to impair healing
A surgical treatment of cutting out skin lesions is performed in topical anaesthesia. A change is cut out with a small piece of healthy skin with the use of a scalpel and then stiches and dressing are put. In order to define the character of the lesion the removed material is sent to histopathologic examination. It shall also be remembered that in a place of a lesion removal may remain a more or less visible scar.
Complications: an infection of the treated place, dehiscence of a scar

Until stiches are removed, it is necessary not to take baths but shower only. After taking a shower the wound must be dried, disinfected with Octanisept and then a dressing must be put. Additionally, in order to make the wound heal better, it is recommended not to make any sudden movements, especially stretching. It is best to resign from any physical exercises in post treatment period. If it is necessary, the patient shall come for a visit to remove stiches in the time stated by a doctor.
