Electrocoagulation

Electrocoagulation is a treatment involving tissues coagulation through their thermic damage with the usage of high frequency power.

Indications:

  • viral warts i.e. verruca
  • flat warts
  • seborrheic warts
  • milia
  • armpits or neck fibroma

Contraindications:

  • heart pacemaker
  • thrombopathy
  • circulation dysfunction
  • uncontrolled diabetes
  • pregnancy
  • active viral infections (e.g. herpes) and bacterial ones in the area subjected to treatment

Treatment description

The treatment is performed with the usage of electrodes of various shapes: loop, needle with a ball, surgical knives.

Post treatment indications:

  • avoid solarium and sun exposure for a fortnight
  • use sun protection – a cream with +50 sunscreen for a fortnight

Convalescence time

Directly after the treatment there may appear the feeling of sting or tenderness which passes after circa an hour. In the place of mark removal appears erosive skin covered with crust, what is a proper protective and remedial skin procedure. During daily care you should pay attention not to destroy it, as it enables a better healing process.

Time:  depending on the amount of marks 15-30  minutes
Anaesthesia: in case of smaller changes, anaesthesia is not needed. However, in case of bigger changes or the ones located in a sensitive skin area we use topical anaesthesia (e.g. anaesthetic cream Emla) or infiltrative anaesthesia (e.g. Lignokaina).
