Valley of tears

The loss of tissues on the line between an eyehole and cheeks, so called “valley of tears” appears regardless of age. In case of young people its presence is connected with genetic predispositions, in later age it appears in the process of aging.

Eyes look as if ringed which makes the face look tired. A perfect solution to this problem is the application of hyaluronic acid or fat in this area. The treatment levels existing hollows, takes away years and brings the freshness of the look. After a few months following the treatment dark circles under eyes become brightened.

Indications:

  • under eye circles
  • the valley of tears

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy and lactation
  • autoimmune diseases
  • active viral infections (e.g. herpes) and bacterial ones in the area subjected to treatment
  • swelling of the eye area
  • fat-pad outpouching
  • proclivity towards swelling

The process of treatment

The filler in a form of transparent gel is applied in the area of the valley of tears with the use of a needle or cannula

Post treatment indications

  • do not massage nor compress without clear doctor’s indications
  • avoid sauna and solarium for a fortnight
  • avoid sun exposure for a fortnight
  • use sun protection – a cream with +50 sunscreen for at least a fortnight

Convalescence time

In the place of the treatment redness and swelling may be visible, but they disappear within a few hours till 2 days. Additionally, in some cases as a result of blood vessel damage lividity may appear, which disappears after 7-10 days.

The effect of the treatment

The effects include shallowing of the valley of tears and reduction of under eye circles. In case of a filler, shallowing of the valley of tears is visible directly after the treatment. It should be remembered, though, that the final effect connected to hydration of the filler appears after circa 3 weeks.

The persistence of the treatment effect

The persistence of the treatment effect is circa 8-12 months. After the next treatment the effect lasts longer.
