Cosmelan/dermamelan is an effective and safe therapy which helps to level sun discolourations and the ones on hormonal grounds (melasma). The mechanism of its action is based on the use of substances inhibiting thirosinase, a key enzyme in the process of melanin creation which is responsible for development of spots and discolourations.
After the medical consultation, the mask is applied on a face. With this preparation (of a mustard colour) on a face, the patient goes home, where after 6-12 hours washes down the face.
The mask must be washed down after 6-12 hours. Then, in order to reduce inflammatory condition we use a soothing post-treatment cream, and next we start a therapy with COSMELAN 2 cream. The cream is used for a few months, as per a scheme individually chosen by the doctor. 14 days after the treatment a follow-up visit, included in the price, is recommended so as to assess the results of the treatment and set a further action.
As a result of the treatment in case of 99% the intensity of mark colouration reduces by 95%.
During the first period (circa one week) the skin can be irritated and florid.
The persistence of the treatment effect: individual, depending on the proper usage of sun skin protection and creams of Cosmelan 2 preparations.
