The treatment of lips enlarging or shaping with the use of hyaluronic acid can be performed regardless of patient’s age. In case of young people it is mainly connected with existing asymmetry, correction of lips shape or increasing their volume – especially in a case of an upper or lower lip which has been developed too little. In case of older people the treatment is connected to changes resulting from a progressive aging process, i.e. the loss of skin tensity or the loss of red zone of the lip. Additionally, it is used in order to improve lips moisturizing. In case of some patients the optimal aesthetic effect is achieved by combining the technique of filling lips with hyaluronic acid and their accentuation with the use of permanent makeup.
