Cross linked hyaluronic acid through its filling properties and the ones that enable tissues lifting, as well as through its plasticity found a use in the correction of post-acne, post-traumatic and postsurgical scars. The treatment is especially recommended when scars are uneven with hollow surface. A scaffolding made with the use of hyaluronic acid enables to raise the surface of hollow scar which makes it less visible and the skin surface becomes more smoothed. In case of lacerated post-acne scars in order to get better effects, the injections with hyaluronic acid should be preceded by surgical undercutting of connective tissue syncretion in the area around the scar.
